Would you like to be sure that you are going to Heaven when you die?
Would you like to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
There are just a few things you need to know to get you on your way to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
First, you need to know that all of us are born without a relationship with God. The Bible teaches that all of us are sinners, and it is our sin that separates us from God.
“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 3:10)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
These verses teach us that we are not worthy of God, and that our sins separate us from His presence.
The second thing you must know is that man can do nothing to save himself from his sins, and that the penalty for these sins is eternal death and separation from God.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12)
“For the wages of sin is death...” (Romans 6:23a)
The death referred to in this verse is eternal death, which is separation from God in a place the Bible calls Hell. The Bible teaches that Hell is a real place and that people really go there if they die away from God (Revelation 21:8).
That is the bad news. Now for the good news! God loves you and does not want to be your enemy. He loved you so much that He sent His Son to die for your sins.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
That’s right – Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for our sins. That penalty was death, and Jesus paid the price by dying on the cross for us. God showed His acceptance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice by raising Him from the dead.
Now, what God asks of us is to repent of our sins and to believe in Jesus Christ as our Saviour. If we obey God’s voice and accept Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross, God has promised to forgive our sins and to give us eternal life.
“But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b)
So what do you need to do to be saved?
1. Repent of your sins. Ask God to forgive you of the sins that you have committed against Him. And,
2. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Here is a verse that tells us what to do:
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans10:13)
Why don’t you take a moment right now, and pray this prayer? You can find peace and know that you have a home in Heaven!
“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I am sorry that I have sinned against You. Please forgive me of my sins. I believe that You died for my sins, and I ask you to save me right now. Thank you. Amen.”
